Vieux Québec

Down below l’Escalier Casse-Cou (Break Neck Stairs) in Quebec City lies the spot where Samuel de Champlain landed in 1608 and founded the first French settlement in North America. In Vieux Quebec below looming cliffs and Chateau Frontenac the architecture of Basse-Ville is charmingly European, but created with the rustic resources available in Nouvelle France in the 1700s. Using only my zoom lens I concentrated on the architectural details, geometric shapes and blocks of colour in the narrow streets of this beautiful city.
